Dr. Benjamin Appiah Osei, a lecturer at the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Studies at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has received the Tourism Innovation & Technology Award (Individual Category) at the 25th National Tourism Awards organised by the Ghana Tourism Authority.
Dr. Osei was honoured for his contributions to tourism technology development, digital hospitality education, and community-focused learning under his initiative Tourism & Hospitality for Everyone (TOHFE) and its digital learning extension, TOHFE Learns with Dr Ben.
The National Tourism Awards is the Ghana Tourism Authority’s flagship platform for celebrating individuals and institutions that have significantly influenced the growth and competitiveness of the tourism and hospitality industry.
Speaking after receiving the honour, Dr. Osei said the award reaffirmed his commitment to research-driven innovation and capacity-building in the tourism ecosystem.
“This recognition is a profound honour. It reinforces my commitment to innovation, technology integration and service in Ghana’s tourism space,” he said. “I am motivated to keep contributing to tourism development through community-focused initiatives that enhance inclusivity, sustainability and digital transformation.”
